A Brief History

In the mid 1980’s there was a push by the Department of Labour and the Building Industry unions to provide a safe working practice for members of these unions due to fatalities and serious injuries.  The Directors of Australian Mesh were major roofing contractors and pooled their knowledge of the industry and decided a mesh light enough to handle and strong enough to support the weight of a person falling into the mesh would be our way of demonstrating a safe working environment for our employees.

Unfortunately none of the current mesh manufacturers had machinery to manufacture to our requirements.   Australian Mesh eventually scoured the world for a machine to supply the equipment required.  This machine was eventually set into operation early in 1988.
